Submission Guidelines

Abstract Submission Deadline:  February 20th, 2024 by 11:59pm EST.

Please submit a brief abstract of up to 300 words for a video presentation or a short paper to be considered for this year's conference. We are using Oxford Abstracts to manage the submission and review process. Oxford Abstracts will ask you to create an account and confirm the account through email. Remember to retain your assigned Submission ID number for future reference. If you have any questions, please email support@perusall.com for assistance.

We are accepting short paper and video submissions for the 2024 Exchange conference.

Short Paper Guidelines

Papers should be written in English, edited for grammatical and technical accuracy, and no more than 1500 words excluding tables, figures, and references.  

Here are some basic guidelines for page set-up, style, and formatting.  Please review before submitting your short paper.

  • Page Setup:
  • APA 7 Format for headings, in-text citations, references, tables, and figures
  • https://apastyle.apa.org
  • Margins: Top, Bottom, Left and Right margins are all 1”.
  • Header and Footer are both 0.5” from the edge.  
  • Paper Size: Letter, 8.5” wide x 11” tall, portrait orientation.
  • Headers and Footers: Same for each page except for the title page.
  • Footer should include "Perusall Exchange® 2024" aligned right. (We understand that this does not align with APA 7 guidelines)
  • Vertical Alignment: Top
  • Font: Times New Roman (TNR) 12 pt.
  • Pagination:
  • Every page number in the header, right-justified, beginning with the title page.
  • Running head:
  • Short paper title right-justified, beginning with the title page
  • Title Page:
  • The first page of the paper should contain the title of the paper and bylines with the author’s or authors’ name(s) and the institutional affiliation. All should be centered. Include information for the corresponding author.

Video Presentation Guidelines

Submitted presentations should be an investigation of a topic related to this year’s theme, Trending Topics in Education & Social Learning, and following one of our four tracks.  Proposals that are accepted as video presentations should be 15 minutes long (maximum) and will be professionally recorded with the help of an Exchange videographer.  Final production pieces will have the presentation on the left of the screen and speaker on the right like so:
