Cathy Davidson is a pioneer in rethinking how we teach, assess, and learn. The theme of this year's Perusall Exchange®, How to Assess Student Learning in the Age of AI, puts her at the center of a conversation instructors are having now.

Cathy N. Davidson is the 2025 Recipient of the Harold W. McGraw Jr. Prize in Higher Education. Distinguished Professor Emerita at CUNY Graduate Center and at Duke University, she cofounded and codirects HASTAC.org. She has published some twenty books on culture, technology, and learning, has been a recipient of Guggenheim, Mellon, ACLS, NEH, and NSF awards, was appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Council on the Humanities, and has twice keynoted the Nobel Prize Committee’s Forum on the Future of Learning.
